The organization recognized a need to strengthen its internal leadership pipeline by helping high-performing individual contributors begin developing leadership skills before promotion.

The challenge was to design a scalable program that prepared employees for future leadership roles while offering flexible, engaging learning experiences that supported diverse learning preferences and encouraged learners to apply leadership behaviors within their current roles.

To create an engaging and flexible experience, I designed the program as a blended learning pathway in Degreed, incorporating curated articles, videos, podcasts, reflection activities, interactive exercises, and live facilitated sessions with internal leaders.

Each resource was selected to align with the program’s leadership competencies while offering multiple formats to support different learning preferences. The program also emphasized practical application, encouraging participants to practice skills such as giving feedback, influencing decisions, and fostering psychological safety within their current roles.

The Solution

Within the first year of launch, over 90 participants successfully completed the program, with approximately 10% transitioning into leadership roles shortly after.

Newly promoted leaders reported that the program helped them apply leadership skills in real-world scenarios and prepared them for their new responsibilities The program helped strengthen the organization's leadership pipeline by equipping employees with practical leadership skills before entering formal management roles.
